That's the goal — pick one that fits the shortest limit (X at 15 chars) and it'll work everywhere. If you can't get an exact match, use the same base with platform-appropriate separators (e.g. yourname on IG, your_name on X).
What makes a username bad for SEO?+
Random characters, hard-to-spell substitutions (xoxox), long strings of numbers, or anything that requires 'no, it's spelled with a…'. Search discovery on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube weights readable, keyword-adjacent handles higher.
